Thank you, my friend, for speaking out for freedom, justice, and the country we love.

I’m in the anchor chair tonight on @thebeat.msnbc.com at 6 pm ET on MSNBC.

After the utter chaos today in the Oval Office, we’ve got a lot to talk about.

Hope to see you.

I’m still processing what we saw in the Oval Office and it’s difficult to put into words how disgusted and ashamed I am.

This was a coordinated assault on an ally to benefit a dictator and authoritarian regime. Trump and Vance aren’t just Putin’s puppets, they’re his assets.

Velshi Banned Book Club: Ukrainian literature and the ‘weight of history’
Despite losing Ukrainian authors, journalists, artists, and more than a third of the nation’s book printing capacity, demand for Ukrainian literature is on the rise as Ukrainians strive to secure their future and preserve their history. “The weight of history is really the motivating force for Ukrainians resisting today,” says Ukrainian author and Journalist Yaroslav Trofimov. “They know that the alternative of surrender is actually worse than the tremendous casualties and destruction that occur today.”

Elon Musk fancies himself some kind of maverick technologist superhero.

But he’s no Tony Stark. He’s PHONY Stark.

He’s the one the Avengers defeat at the end of the movie.

So who would benefit from having all the anger and outrage aimed at the DoJ instead of the Supreme Court? Who would benefit from Americans attacking our own institutions - the same institutions the Trump regime is trying to dismantle? Something to think about. END/

I thought for certain I'd see more outrage with the Manhattan DA for letting Bannon off the hook. Or with the Fulton County DA for empaneling a special grand jury when one wasn't necessary. Or the AZ AG for telling the grand jury NOT to indict Trump. But there's only outrage at Biden's DoJ. 1/

The CFPB has:

-Returned $20B to victims of financial fraud
-Cracked down on junk fees
-Fought against politically-motivated debanking
-Protected veterans from predatory lenders
-Protected consumers' data from corporate abuse

Oligarchs want to reverse all of this.

The processing fee for a passport is $130 but there can be other costs and you have to get documents establishing your citizenship like a birth certificate and a photograph. This is the new pull tax if the SAVE act passes.
Have you heard about the SAVE Act? It's the newest effort at voter suppression by the House GOP & it's important for all of us. If you're a married woman or someone who doesn't have their birth certificate/passport handy, you're especially going to want to see this. open.substack.com/pub/joycevan...
