From personal experience, that was probably the right move. I've noticed that feathers I've hung onto for too long tend to feel less "potent" or lack the echo of the source they were associated with. This is also how I evaluate whether a dreamcatcher gifted to me with feathers attached has "expired"

The last ten years of the Books icon weren’t my favorite and I’m actually so pleased with the current version. It just feels right. The curves in the last few designs felt too severe if that makes sense.
