And we already have them! 2 and 6 years, respectively. Congressional approval ratings hover in the low teens, yet incumbency is one of the most powerful electoral forces. At some point voters need to look at themselves and ask if the asshole they keep voting for might be part of the problem.

This is actually not terrible. Now the question is, will they stick to their guns and fight? Or will they concede again in the name of "bipartisanship"? My concern is that they will view these as a starting point for negotiations, rather than the final offer that it needs to be.
