A little piece of my heart called to tell me all about how the active shooter drill went at school today and how terrifying it was, "because middle school drills are more realistic," it nearly broke me. Our kids should not need to make these calls. I'm glad they knew they could, though...but damn. 💔

Remember, when you're adopting a pet: Please take the time to meet the scared ones, the shy ones, the ones that don't stick out, the ones with boring colors, or missing limbs, the ones with a gray muzzle, the frail ones. They HAVE NOT given up. They just need you. And maybe you just need them too.

As protests become more frequent, larger, louder, and more widespread, here is some good advice to put in place. Be safe. Protect yourself and those around you. Push back! Evil does not stop because you ask it to. It must be stopped by opposition.

After 18 months of not being able to do it on my own...
I JUST WASHED MY HAIR (and neck and lower half)!
I feel like we should celebrate. My joy (I cried) will just be celebrated here since that doesn't require getting me in a car.
I feel *mostly* human for the first time in 18 months.
