New episode in which Johnny learns winning isn’t everything. Also tales of a weird movie remix (including Jason Sudekis?) and Jack Nicholson and Marlon Brando as next-door neighbours. megaphone.link/FPMN2943054853

New episode, new movie! 🥳
A jazzy score, lots of hipster talk and an early entry in Jack Nicholson’s grand tradition of playing raging jerks.

Making small choices that make information more easily understood by everyone is not a radical concept; it's simply best practices.

If you didn't know, sans serif fonts are often more accessible for individuals with dyslexia, folks with low or partial vision, and the ADHD community.

One of the biggest impacts I’ve seen from the unproven idea that people are wrongfully using disability accommodations is that people stop trusting people with disabilities and in fact further restrict, remove, and demonize accommodations for people with disabilities in general

Also, check out @sarasoueidan.com's guide on various screen readers and how to set them up on your computer. This resource is hugely helpful, as manual testing with a screen reader will help you catch and fix accessibility issues that can't be identified by automated tests.

The incredible, indomitable, inspirational Alice Wong has left us.

I'm so grateful to have known her on social media, and so grateful for all the words she shared with us and all the actions she encouraged us into making.

May we live up to her example.

When creating PDFs, avoid using "Print to PDF." A screen reader user may still be able to access the text of PDFs created this way, but heading structure, alternative text, and any other tag structure will be lost. Using "Save As" or "Export" can preserve these tags.

Folks who use screen readers, etc., please let Sarah know how you use alt-text in bsky images and what your user experience is for reading it and entering alt-text yourself. Thanks! #a11y
So was training AI the actual reason for alt-text at BlueSky? I have no objection to alt-text as a means to help people with disabilities use online media. But BlueSky's tiny alt-text entry box is not easy for people with vision impairments to use. Helping people never seemed to be the point of it.
I don't even know what to say about @aaron.bsky.team announcing that actually they feed all images posted on Bsky into an AI that just a year ago they told everyone they had banned from using Bsky images
