Celebrated a personal win by scoring a stabilized wood ZMF Atrium during this morning's drop. Can't wait to get this headphone in and try it out. So many gorgeous headphones dropped this ZMF November, but I have a soft spot for the natural looking wood with marble styled resin.

What kind of animals wrap a pair of 7" records in brown paper and shove them in an 8"x8"x4" box?

And now, a stinker. Picked up a 600Ohm Beyerdynamic DT990 to hear with Schiit Valhalla 2 OTL amp and see why people like this headphone. It turns out they are deaf. Or just have a great EQ. Hard to listen to.

DCA E3, the best closed back headphone I've heard, for when you really don't want to hear the room noise in your office.
I don't think it sounds better than the Susvara, but I probably use it more, because of it's able to reduce outside noise.

The Hifiman Susvara is insane-o. No other way to describe it. All of the qualities of the HE6 but bigger... wider... more detailed.
It's so good, and so comfortable. But for some reason I get nervous putting my best headphone on my head, and end up listening to other things. People are weird.

The Hifiman HE6SEV2 was bought after I had picked up the Schiit Ragnarok 2, a crazy integrated amp that can drive speakers or put the full speaker power into headphones. Perfect for these monsters. Everything I liked about the HE4XX but turned up. Deep linear bass. Clarity!

Later in 2019, started to branch out and wanted to try an open back. Sennheiser x Drop HD-6XX headphone fit the bill. Still drive this one regularly, what a great reference, even if a little boring.

B&O H6 Gen 2. In 2019 I started to get a little more serious with the audio hobby and bought these after reading @marcoarment.bsky.social 's recommendation. Compared them with Beyerdynamic and found they had bass that I loved. Still a great closed back portable. Great in the office.

In 2016, after working in an open office for a few years, I picked up the Bose QC25. Still one of my favorite headphones for comfort, with great noise cancelling, they are a little muddy, but surprisingly ok. Not great! But ok!

My first "real" headphone, probably purchased ~ 2000 at BestBuy, the Sony MDR-V600. I loved them when I got them, and they were better than the little walkman headphones, but holy crap they are NOT GOOD. I know people still dig the MDR-7506, I sure hope they sound better than these.
