Who are all these ABD people who are getting offers where they don’t even run a search? I’ve never heard of anything like this.

Oooh - this made me think about a possible new way to use it in class - have students present the videos of their process to the class with discussion/self annotation.

Oooh that would be very very cool and interesting. I feel like there are some cool art possibilities with it too.

Yeah- it’s pretty fool-proof so far- it also gives a lot of interesting info about the writing process- I’ve used it for my own work just to see what it looks like and it’s pretty cool.

I really like The Ordinary’s squalene cleanser and h.a. moisturizer. Josie Maran sunscreen. Gossier skin tint.

None of it is very expensive, the containers are travel friendly, and the ingredients are good.

It’s also a really cool tool to use to talk about writing process, revision etc.

I’ve had students use Google docs and the extension Write Human which creates a video of their writing process.

It’s very hard to recreate a human-like writing process when using AI.

We don't have a culture that says that "public goods are GOOD." Vociferously. We have a political culture with one party that says public goods are BAD and the other that says "Meh, they should be means-tested."

My husband was finally able to quit after trying 10 times by working with a team of care professions who came up with a plan for him to take off a week of work and download a huge MMORPG. He really only left the house that week to go see his therapist. It worked!

So yeah, this is fundamentally about trans people and that cannot be elided, but the ways in which junior faculty are targeted and disposed of, while academic jobs are increasingly precarized, and political grandstanders seek to influence academic governance are fucking terrifying for everyone.

I assume the S is for “special student” in some capacity-since he is described as a special student? It seems he only attended briefly in 1930.
