A Winter Storm Watch issued by NWS remains in effect for the NYC metro area from Friday afternoon to Saturday afternoon. Significant snowfall (6"+) is still possible with some questions on the axis of heaviest banding and any mixing with sleet. Near Philly metro, more of a wintry mix is likely.

Good morning! Today will be warmer but quite breezy in the NYC metro area. We’ll have mostly sunny skies. High temps will reach the low to mid 40s. Northwest winds may gust up to around 40mph during the midday hours.

Good morning! Today starts off a little snowy in the NYC metro area. Light snow will mix with or change to rain in NYC and the coast. But snow continues in the NW suburbs until early this afternoon. High temps will range from the mid 30s inland to near 40°F at the coast.

Monitoring the potential for a winter storm around Friday night. High pressure over Quebec will support cold air damming in the Northeast, while low pressure to the south enhances warm-air advection aloft and frontogenesis. This could lead to a band of heavy snow that transitions to a wintry mix.

Light snow is expected ahead of a warm front tomorrow morning. Slightly warmer temps and some rain mixing in at times, will likely keep amounts around 1” or less from NYC S&E. But the NW suburbs could see 1-3” of snowfall. Take it easy on the roads.

Good morning! Today will start off stormy in the NYC metro area. Expect heavy rain at times and strong southerly winds until around noontime. High temps will reach the mid to upper 50s, but will fall quickly later this afternoon and evening with gusty westerly winds.

Heavy rain and strong, gusty winds are expected tomorrow morning. Localized flash flooding is possible. Winds will likely gust between 40-50mph, but could gust up to 60mph, especially near the coast. Some minor to moderate coastal flooding from high tides is also expected.

Several days of above normal temperatures are likely in much of the CONUS next week with a strong ridge. But persistent troughiness over SE Canada will also likely support some colder temperatures around the Great Lakes and Northeast US.

9:15am update: Snow will taper off in a few hours in NYC metro. Then skies clear for some sunshine later this afternoon. But it turns colder with blustery NW winds. Temps will fall into the 20s. Real feel temps will be in the teens.

Good morning! Snow will continue to increase in intensity early this morning the NYC metro area. Snowfall totals between 3”- 5” now appear likely in much of the area. But locally higher totals up to 8” are possible, especially over Central NJ and Long Island. Snow should taper off close to noontime.
