This doesn't bode well for #geography, we barely get any applications for jobs and didn't get a single one for maternity cover...😬

Had a great few days in #dorset on residential. It really is a beautiful part of the world! Favourite quote from a student: geography is coming alive!

Well done David, this is exciting!!

We are implementing a whole school approach to spoken communication using 'think, pair, share' does anyone know if there is research on how long staff should give to students to make it really purposeful? Is there too much time? @alexjquigley.bsky.social @didau.bsky.social

Hey Hanna, my school doesn't do A level so I feel a little bit out of the loop on that one. We used to use Geofiles but really depends on students because they can be quite heavy going? Could geography review be worth looking at? magazines.hachettelearning.com/magazines/ge...

Yeah, I just don't think that's much for a test track and research buildings!? Bit if a rubbish question of you ask me 😂
mrbishopgeog.bsky.social
Surely that's not big enough for a test track and research building?

I'm trying to work out this question... Am I wrong in thinking this question doesn't work. I'm thinking they want to locate it on one grid square (1km by 1km), but that's not the same as 2sets of 500m2? One grid square is 1million M2 isn't it? @fiona-sheriff.bsky.social @geodougie.bsky.social

20 years since #katrina, that's kind of mad! Some interesting articles and documentaries coming out, this looks good for subject knowledge but also the legacy. Important if teaching 'old' case studies! youtu.be/2gyBK3UMT34?...

Good starter for climate change and discussions around impacts of globally warming...

How many categories are there in GCSE geography, when was it updated...?! I know #ocr feels very outdated...! 🤔

When people talk about countries as “rich” or “poor”, they can mean many different things. But for researchers and policymakers, it helps to have a way to compare countries by income using clear criteria. 🧵

Something for literacy and the importance of punctuation...? One gets you arrested these days!!

At our demonstration today, I'm holding a placard stating
"I support
Palestine.
Action
must be taken."
My aim is to highlight the absurdity of the government dictating what can and cannot be said by peace-seeking people

Really lovely and powerful book!!

66km - 90% off roads. Just cycled the Downs Link Way, one for the new @slowwaysuk.bsky.social . So amazing to be able to go so far without being on roads! Loved it!

This is such an amazing resource about climate change. I'm going to be watching a few of these!
