Reportedly, Trump and Xi are not speaking after China imposed retaliatory tariffs. That's because Trump has no plan to *actually* deal with a trade war; he just wanted to beat his chest before caving to give the optics of some big deal. But since China isn't playing along, we're now in a trade war.

I honestly believe our most powerful position in a toxic time that feeds on cynicism, apathy,& despair is to genuinely care and act for a better world.

Cynicism is our enemy. We should check it, incl. on the left. It’s not intellectually superior. It’s the virus they’re trying to infect us with. NO
