When you think of a lot of the services that the rich pay for, especially for dumb things like "sorority consultants", you find there are two things they pay through the nose for: to buy time (buy themselves out of burden), and to buy certainty so as to live with less uncertainty that others do.

This is just going to create a crop of consultants, possibly also using AI, to learn how to game the AI

Like, my Nicaraguan family had the unique distinction of wanting the US government to stick it to Somoza, but then also, the Sandinistas.

Literally. BLS indicates roughly 41k people work in coal, while over 51.2k work at vineyards alone. One study estimates the total impact of wine production on the US (direct) is 972k when you account for the warehousing, distribution, and retailing of wine.

I have been listening to Duke while reading Teachout’s great biography of him. It’s awesome to sort of follow along with the book to be able to hear. FYI Webster’s sax on Cottontail is my jam.

CVS in northern Virginia did not inquire *why* I was eligible for my Covid booster shot today. The app makes you simply say that you are, yes or no. After that I faced no questions.

I just want a music AI that can tell me the chord progression of a song to do that faster than I can by ear.

Yep. I’m a long suffering Marlins fan who has basically two sports years that mattered.

The Marlins will have another losing season. Since 1993 they’ve only had 8 winning seasons out of 32. It is the third worst track record of losing season during that period. Only Pittsburgh (4 winning seasons) and Kansas City (7 winning seasons) have fared worse.

I prefer colder weather seasons because I can layer and wear outerwear, and men’s fashion is far superior with those aspects involved.

The thing with stuff like this is these data centers provide a very minimal number of jobs post construction. There’s like a dude in a dark room making sure it doesn’t break here and there.

Do the unions have clauses for them for exactly these contingencies? Like protections in case your boss does something / or arbitrarily gets fired ?
