Not bc I’m in a hurry to get it back, but because sometimes they’ll forget they still have it out. It helps cut down number of lost titles at end of year. (I’m starting to toy with the idea of a 3 week loan period.)

Mine has been at 2 weeks for years. Can renew few times on their own. We’ll renew over that if still reading. Kids w books 30+ days overdue we touch base with to check in on if need to renew, done, etc.

I read a lot of middle school fantasy. My memory believes these are first person - The Witchlings, Amari &the Night Brothers, The Serpent’s Secret, Aru Shah &the End of Time. All are series. Been reading aloud The One and Only Tim series with my 3rd grader. He loves them, & they’re first person.
