Today’s found photo(s):

There’s no information written on the back of these two photos. I have no idea who they are or what year these were taken.

I don’t think there’s any relation between the photos, but I enjoy them. The photos seem candid and the subjects appear genuinely happy in the moment.

There was a post in my town’s FB group about some teenagers giving the Nazi salute to the OP.

The replies are insane. For example we have this:

“If the kids like Hitler and Nazis, that’s their choice and no one here should be belittling them”

What the fuck.

Today’s found photo:

This one is technically a post card that features a class photo from an unknown school.

The back reads: “Mr. Whetstone - Principal”.

I would guess the time to be early 1900’s?

Today’s forgotten photo:

This one struck me because of the handwritten note at the top corner reading: “Rae’s worst picture (6 for $1.00)”

If this is Rae’s worst photo, I can’t imagine how beautiful she was in her best ones.

And Rae, I spent $1 for just this one photo. I think it was a steal.

Finally changed our kitchen calendar to January but I just want to share my daughter’s notes/doodles from December 13th, Christmas, and Hanukkah.

(We are not Jewish so I apologize if her menorah is incorrect)

Today’s forgotten face:

Dr. Thomas J. Dehey, an optometrist from Pittsfield, MA.

He took these photos at the New England Convention of Optometrists in 1929 for his wife (Bertha). He wrote personal notes on the back of each photo for her.

A few weeks later I went back and looked through the photos again. I was excited to find another photo of a woman on the beach with the broken barrel. She must be a relative or friend of the original photo I found. I brought her home to reunite them.

On the back of her photo reads “At Rye Beach”.

The first time I went to my local antique store I found a basket filled with old photos. People who have been forgotten. After sifting through I found this photo & knew I needed to bring her home with me.

She looks so happy & free. Living her best life being silly on the beach (1/2)
