This Is A Test Of The Emergency Yarn Stash System
In preparation for friends staying with us in the coming months, our very disorganized storage room is getting a glow-up. Since quite a lot *kof* of my yarn is stored in that room, it's been a revelation (yet, again) of how large my yarn stash is. Yarnaholic is still a very on point moniker for me. Then I read this WaPo article…

With the exception of my previous post (Knitting for the Grands), for some reason my blog's page on Mastodon quit displaying new posts after It's a Wrap! published in 2022. That post has somehow become "pinned" to the top of my page there and I have no way to unpin it. Support is working on it. Trying to regain some headspace attempting a #mending technique we learned in a 3-hour workshop last week. Black #yarn warp with black/white barberpole yarn weft.

I can't say I'm 100% happy with the result, but at least the #sweater is wearable next winter. (Not wearing it in today's 37C heat!!)

Finding this pattern 2 years late but someone basically took the fingering weight version of my free BY-NC-SA kippah pattern, turned it inside out and made it into a separate pattern. Debating whether or not to get my knickers in a bind. Theirs is free, CC0. Still…grrr.

Our local #knitting group is looking for a place with a/c for our summer meetings. The only remaining brick and mortar yarn shop in our little town apparently has a table open for crocheters, but not knitters. How strange is that?!

A really interesting article from @craftindustryalliance.org about yarn habits among #knitters and #crocheters. craftindustryalliance.org/the-size-of-...

It shows that knitters do it daily.

Made me laugh. At last month's knitting / fiber meet up, I spotted some white cotton yarn I put in the donation box about 4 years ago.

Only goes to show that a 🧶yarn mama knows her babies. (And, of course, a yarn papa does, too.)
