Aging (ungraciously) gamer, crocheter who is (sadly) allergic to wool, avid reader, introvert, and Canadian. 🇨🇦
A year and a half's worth of #crochet 🧶scarves. Mostly in acrylic yarns, since I have a wool allergy, though the infinity scarf at lower left is 20% wool, and the netting infinity scarf next over from that is silk-linen. Preparing to pack them up to send off to family in Toronto for Christmas.

Completed two more #crochet 🧶scarves and added a border to an existing claret-coloured one I completed last year. Time to box up all the scarves to ship off as a Christmas gift to family + extended family!

Finished another #crochet 🧶baby blanket. They're definitely better projects to work on than plain scarves, as they're only marginally more complex to make (since so far I'm sticking to making simple ones) but take considerably more time to complete. And some day I can shower the niblings with them.

This is the third (and LAST) time I am deciding that this #crochet 🧶 blanket is finished. Added an additional 3 balls of yarn onto it, which has it just slightly wider than a queen sized mattress, which means it should now be a decent size to gift to one of my 6.5' brothers.

Completed another #crochet 🧶baby blanket. I am just SO happy with the end result; it's something I'd be proud to give away at a baby shower. Which has me eyeing the rather wonky one I finished a couple weeks back and considering frogging & redoing it. Worked in Mary Maxim Lullaby yarn in "Nursery".

Bought a super-cute craft bag that I hoped would be big enough to carry around my yarn spinner + whatever my current #crochet 🧶 project is, and yes... yes it is. Obviously larger projects would need a bigger bag, but I already have a large drawstring backpack for that purpose.

The first baby blanket I ever crocheted (left, 20+ years old) and my second one (right, within the last month). Given I stopped crocheting for a big chunk of that 20+ years, the actual length of crocheting experience between the two is only about a year. #crochet 🧶

My most recent couple of #crochet 🧶scarves. The darker one is Red Heart Roll With It Melange in Curtain Call colourway, the other is Mary Maxim Prism in Rainbow fringed with an art yarn from Olivia Yarn Studio; there's sparkly strands and sequins in there, so it's glittery fringe.

SOMEONE IS FAILING BASIC MATH. Take the decade home #gaming became a big thing (the 80s). Take the ages of the most likely adopters of said tech (teens through 30s). Add the number of years since the 80s (40-ish). Yet it's a shock that the 50+ demographic adds up to a significant number of #gamers!?

Adults over the age of 50 represent nearly a third of US gamers and are becoming more visible in the mainstream

Knocked out the latest #crochet 🧶 scarf pretty fast; three days from start to finish. Worked in Bernat Wavelength acrylic, and I am scratching my head over how they got the name 'orange sodalite' for a mostly greys, reds, and purples colourway (the actual stone is blue with orange & white veining).

Spent the last few days making the small throw I made a month back into a rather bigger throw. It's now a more reasonable size for an adult to drape over their legs, though I'm still debating if I need to order even more yarn and make it even bigger. #crochet 🧶

And another gradient stripes #crochet 🧶scarf completed; this one was worked in Lion Brand's Mandala Gradient in steel blue, with one ball reversed so that the stripes went from dark blue and white at the ends to a matching medium blue at the middle.

Finished work on the #crochet 🧶infinity scarf made from green alpaca yarn from Olivia Yarn Studio. I am just *SO* happy with how it turned out (and it didn't set off my wool allergies!) and am keeping it for muself. Also bought more acrylic yarn for the #yarnstash, mostly for more scarves to gift.

Finished another #crochet 🧶scarf, and acquired more yarn for the #yarnstash. The scarf is Red Heart 'Aspen' worked in an extended moss stitch. The yarns are all from a couple of Etsy shops - Color of my Fiber and Olivia Yarn Studio, both in Quebec. Fingers crossed that I can use that green alpaca.

Finished another #crochet 🧶 scarf, this one worked in Loops and Threads 'Kai' in the Pink Lemonade colourway, using shell stitch. Made it a little on the wide side, so the final length is a bit on the short side, but then I'm also pretty tall so this length is just fine for other (shorter!) people.

And another scarf knocked out. This one was fun, I saw a striped knit scarf on Ravelry that I liked the look of, wondered if I could work out a way to do the same effect in #crochet 🧶, and then did so. This is made using Lion Brand "Landscape" yarn in blue lagoon and volcano. Edges are a bit wonky.

Another #crochet 🧶 project done - I already finished the small throw or large shawl I wanted to try making using Lion Brand "Chunky Chill" yarn in honey yellow - my first project using such large yarn and hook. It worked up very quickly, I managed to use all three skeins in three days of crocheting.

Have finished the #crochet 🧶 work of another scarf, in a self-striping gradient yarn, and started work on a shawl or throw of chunky honey-yellow yarn. The scarf is alternating rows of single and double stitches, the throw is a squared spiral of single stitches.

My #yarnstash 🧶 is expanding again (and has been moved to a much bigger storage bag). Finally got more of the sky blue cotton yarn so I can finish off my hoodie properly (that is, with a hood) and since it barely increases the shipping, grabbed a few other yarns as well.

Finally finished a #crochet 🧶scarf I'd started back in December. I hadn't realized when buying the buff fleck yarn that it had some wool content (presumably the flecks) until it made my fingers sting as if I was trying to knit fibreglass. Stupid wool allergy 😬

My first attempt at a #crochet 🧶 kitchen hand towel. I am VERY happy with how it turned out. Worked in Premier Home Cotton in cornflower stripe, with cornflower solid for the topper. Worked mostly using my favourite stitch, the mini bean. I plan to turn the leftover yarn into a matching dishcloth.

A couple of completed #crochet 🧶projects; a hoodie where I ran out of yarn before making the hood (I'll fix that if and when I manage to get more of the correct colour yarn), and a sparkly scarf crocheted out of cotton-linen yarn imported from India.

More 🧶 yarn for my #yarnstash. A ball of dark blue to finish off a light blue hoodie I've been crocheting since January, green cotton for a second sweater of some kind, some smaller cotton balls in blue for a kitchen towel, and some pretty rainbow acrylic yarn for (probably) a baby blanket.

Been struggling with (and repeatedly frogging) the sleeve on my current #crochet 🧶 project, a cotton yarn hoodie. It's taken me since Feb 24 to finally get a result I'm happy with. Now I just have to duplicate what I did for the other sleeve, and then I'm in the home stretch of pocket and hood.
