I hit up the Krampus haunted house with some friends tonight. We loved the escape games and zombie shoot. (Yes, I said zombie shoot.) It was worth venturing out in the cold.

A friend saw several of these ornaments in a thrift store, still in their original packaging & texted me. I didn't see his message, and he didn't know if I already had one/would want it, so he hid it behind the display, so I could come find it if I wanted it. My partner retrieved & bought it today.

It appears there is a group of Santas doing civil disobedience in downtown Chicago while demanding "a city budget for the money not the few." The Santas want billionaires to get taxed. So say we all.

My friend @harshawalia.bsky.social was arrested and charged, and another protester was brutalized today in Vancouver at a protest targeting Apple for profiting from death and exploitation in its supply chain. The protesters also called out Apple's support of Friends of the IDF.

I'm proud to be marching this upcoming Black Friday alongside the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights, @ctulocal1.bsky.social and dozens of other orgs and unions to unite the boycott campaigns against Amazon, AT&T and Target, and demand that big corporations pay their share of taxes.

I've never had people bring me presents at a book talk before, but I came away with quite a little haul from this event. I am honored that folks shared this book, these political magazines, buttons, stickers, writings, and poems with me—and a piece of DS9 memorabilia, OMG!
A copy of the book It Did Happen here, several issues of the political magazine Perspectives, a bulky envelope, a crocheted cloth, and a Captain Sisko memorabilia card.

There was an ICE watch and rapid responder appreciation event in Rogers Park today, and I wasn't able to attend, but I did send over 20 signed copies of Let This Radicalize You as gifts for my fellow volunteers. There's a virtual appreciation event happening soon, and I will def be present for that.

So saddened by the news that we have lost Alice Wong. It was an honor to know her and learn from her. May the lessons she shared continue to guide us for years to come.

I have so many dreams that I wanted to fulfill and plans to create new stories for you. There are a few in progress that might come to fruition in a few years if things work out. I did not ever imagine I would live to this age and end up a writer, editor, activist, and more. As a kid riddled with insecurity and internalized ableism, I could not see a path forward. It was thanks to friendships and some great teachers who believed in me that I was able to fight my way out of miserable situations into a place where I finally felt comfortable in my skin. We need more stories about us and our culture. You all, we all, deserve the everything and more in such a hostile, ableist environment. Our wisdom is incisive and unflinching. I'm honored to be your ancestor and believe disabled oracles like us will light the way to the future. Don't let the bastards grind you down. I love you all.
