Also think she was burned a bit by awful choice of lead singles for Lover. Me!, YNTCD, and The Man were not well received critically, and Cruel Summer didn’t get its due until five years later.

IMO, it’s been because since Folklore she’s been an album artist, not a single artist. No one single has caught on like like Espresso or similar. So she gets the metric of the whole track list charting at once, rather than the metric of the lead single at #1 for X many weeks or whatever.

I think the interesting lens to view it through, in light of her engagement, is - what if this is the last TS breakup album? There’s something fitting about its length and looseness in that regard. Like the last 2am post b/u call your friends will pick up after they start telling you to get a grip.

Apparently the NFL wanted her show for free, and thought the value of it for her was the exposure. The NFL has been getting free exposure from Taylor, just from her going to her fiancés games, and she is getting death threats for it.

This raises a very interesting question - what is a political decision? What is a legal one? IMO this falls pretty squarely into a legal decision about rights, and political decisions are about the creation of new legislation, and not the upholding of existing legislation, and allocation of funds.
