The waived convenience fee is only for paid tiers of Stubs. But I paid $9.23 in person for tickets last night. I was comparing apples to oranges earlier, but that's still a ~17% increase over the previous $7.84 in person price.

It may be that if I hit purchase the convenience fee will be waived and the price will drop, but I still don't see how that leads to the previous price of $7.84.

This is a big increase in price for Tuesday showtimes. Previously evening 2d showtimes were all $7.84 after tax in Chicago. Tomorrow, the cheapest film I see is $11.68.
