Call me weird, but I much prefer a president who reads informed, sensible comments from notecards to one who spews embarrassing, profoundly ignorant nonsense off the top of his head.

@msnbc.com I REALLY don't care about the Sean "Diddy" Combs trial. It has no impact on my life. It is a waste of time and resources to cover this event. Report the verdict when one is reached. Our country is crumbling all around us. We don't need tabloid diversions of attention.

@jenpsaki.msnbc.com There is a simple explanation for Trump's pattern of projecting decisions and actions two weeks into the future. He always needs time to consult with his most trusted advisor: Mr. Godot.

We could use a little less "liberation" and a lot more deliberation.

Thank you @booker.senate.gov for your courage, your eloquence, your moral vision, and your astonishing strength.

@anacabrera.bsky.social You got your wish. And so did my CSU alum wife. Rams win!

Once again, extremists arm the object of their rage. The violence against Teslas and Tesla dealerships becomes the story, taking the focus away from Musk and Trump. Way to go, folks.

From the AP: "The strikes appeared to give Netanyahu a political boost, with a far-right party that had bolted the government over the ceasefire announcing Tuesday that it was rejoining."
Killing 400 people to get a "political boost," is not just immoral, it is depraved.

The Senate voted to approve the continuing resolution on the budget. It's over. You can disagree, you can be frustrated, angry, enraged. Stop talking about it. Focus on the present and the future. There are fights to be waged. Looking backwards and whining looks weak and accomplishes nothing.

@lawrenceodonnell.msnbc.com Correction: Trump knows that his ELECTORAL career is over. He believes his political career is hale and hearty.

@joyannreid.bsky.social No reflection on the pre-speech MSNBC panel (all of whom we like and respect), but......we miss you in this big game situation.

@michaelsteele.bsky.social Either y'all are being commendably even-handed or your producers got punked by the egg man. I suspect the latter, but you both did a good job and displayed admirable equanimity in the moment.

I would like to see the results of focus groups consisting of federal employees who voted for Trump and just lost their jobs. I take no joy from their misfortune but I am curious as to how they are processing what is happening.

Now that Tulsi Gabbard has been sworn in as Director of National Intelligence, we should turn our attention to the all-important position of Director of National Stupidity. There are a great many highly qualified candidates for this coveted job and I expect that the competition will be fierce.

A significant minority is thrilled with what Trusk are doing. A significant minority is horrified and alarmed. A great many Americans (some of whom are part of the 89 million who didn't vote) are not paying attention and have no idea what is happening.

Tariffs will produce a trade war and international economic chaos. Crippling the FBI will allow a terror act against the US to succeed. Either or both will "justify" the declaration and use of executive powers not permitted under the constitution. A feature, not a bug.

I never got or used TikTok. What am I missing?

It may be a minor quibble, but I wonder if it was a slight breach of protocol for Trump to salute during the ceremony at Arlington. Until tomorrow at noon, he is a private citizen, a civilian with no military experience or standing. Hand over his heart might have been the better choice.

@cbssports.bsky.social On behalf of Broncos fans everywhere, thanks for bringing us three quarters of a game.

Kamala didn't lose because Biden dropped out too late. She didn't lose because she ran a bad campaign. She didn't lose because Democrats talk down to working class folks. She lost because too many voters made a bad, uninformed decision. She didn't lose. We did.

Trump's popular vote total continues to climb; he now trails Biden's 2020 number by 4.8 million.
