I should point out this is my read of the text, not necessarily the authors' intent. There are some choice passages that I think support this.

I don't think they would agree my read. I don't think it's their intent. But I think there is an argument that this is what the text conveys.

@fortifiedniche.bsky.social are y'all reading this? It's been truly fascinating so far. It has an underlying thesis, I think, that being involved in a minis game is a predominantly hobby oriented experience, not a game play oriented. Maybe the rules are the guts, but hobby is the spine and heart.

I'd suggest getting a high quality board game with minis rather than diving head long into 3d Printing. 3D Printing has so much operational friction.

A board game also comes with lots of the same figure so you can try techniques over and over and learn the process. Also easy to strip and repaint.

This #mini took 3 kits, resin 3d printed parts, and a dremel tool (to cut the helmet off a mono pose model) but I think it worked out.
My plan in the coming weeks is to provide a sort of "recipe" for making a fireteam in this style.

One of my favorite #DOOM mods. This has been a big inspiration to me. It has a completely new arsenal, a bunch of new enemies, and some amazing maps.

30+ solo play-test in 8 weeks and I needed to see the thing outside of my own brain. Had great help today and test went great. We got double the gaming in the same time so it is definitely faster! Had some real strong tactics from the players today.

I made these tiles for my #DOOM themed game, because it uses a grid. I really wanted that maybe-Mars-maybe-hell look and I think I got it.

Terrain is from Warcry. It's been my first real painting experience.
