The view as you head over a small plateau and down this small gulch is extraordinary: a sweeping glen opens up, resplendent with lochs, looming mountains, and even remnants of the Ancient Caledonian Forest. On our trip, we'll be visiting the far side of these impressive remote peaks. This image was made at sunset just as the last of the light was backlighting the foreground birch tree's young spring leaves.

A burst of sunrise light peaks out over the horizon in a sunstar, flooding the foreground grasses with light.
