Artists & musicians have the power to gather us all together
@mus38.bsky.social
Let’s do it through music.

Musicians you know what to do.

Writers, it’s time to write the truth.

The time is now so let’s get busy.

Everybody’s watching and if they’re not, we need to open their eyes.

Bruce Springsteen is holding the torch with us.
Pinned
Never forget the power of music.
It has always been and always shall be one of the strongest voices on earth.
I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.

We need protest songs more than ever now! Every Sunday morning I will feature my five picks. I’m looking for mostly unknown bands and musicians who are writing or covering songs that speak to the brutality of our current moment.

Follow and Support them. Will post 5 today, in no order.

We stand against ICE’s illegal occupation of Minneapolis and all American Cities; we stand against the brutality that they have enacted. We believe these actions to be inhumane, unjust and illegal.

This was humbling.
I watched this video a year ago when it first came out.
She may as well have been a psychic, it’s eerie to see how much of it came true and is true.
@gilduran.com she gives you thanks in the very beginning.
It’s really something to watch this a year later.

I totally agree with KD on this post👊
Thankfully this electrifying moment doesn’t just have to live in my heart—which it will, forever—because thanks to @solace.bsky.social it will also be available for a jolt of fiery solidarity when we need it again. youtu.be/LLMKAxFtjB8

This video gives me chills every time I watch it.

This was a great narrative and totally worth the watch.

I’m sure you’ve already seen it @dhlovelife.bsky.social but if not, it’ll make you proud😊

Bruce Springsteen and Neil Young are shown and discussed in the footage.
Saw Ali Velshi on msnow earlier in the day. He discussed defending democracy and fighting fascism via music. Neil Young and Bruce Springsteen were featured in the five-minute section.

Most of us on here know who Heather Cox Richardson is and trust her.
We could be so close…. And yet we’re still so far.

23 and 16 and we could be closer to free.

THIS IS A MOMENT. It would only take 23 REPUBLICANS to impeach our unhinged president. It would only take SIXTEEN REPUBLICANS TO STOP ICE — TONIGHT.

I’ve always been a hard-core Springsteen fan and I have been proud of him many times as he has spoken out & written about what’s in his head and heart, But I do believe as a fan -THIS is my proudest moment of him.

The big baby will go after him, Bruce Springsteen is willing to face that for us🙏
Bruce Springsteen singing his new song "Streets of Minneapolis" at our very own First Avenue. A place where amazing artists like Prince got their start - this venue means so much to our state and it's incredible to see Bruce bring our community together.

Rising to the moment. Aware of others pain & struggles (as he was when he wrote the album
The Rising).
Able to put himself in other people shoes.
Scanning the world around him and eyes wide open to America, Bruce Springsteen sensed the right moment to use his voice once again.
Forever, our ally.

Thank you to Bruce Springsteen and Tom Morello.
Musicians have such a gigantic impact on issues a country can be fighting for. Their support can be the injection we need to march on.
In this case, it really feels like Bruce Springsteen & Tom Morello are right by our side.
