All I ever wanted to do was act and I was in the professional theatre for a long time. A family came along and I became a magazine journalist/book editor. Until last year I was a choral MD, and I wrote a book on classical #music. I miss conducting and am on the lookout for another choir to lead.
Happy New Year to all. Watched the first episode of #TheNightManager last night and, blimey, the body count’s already high! Anyone taking bets as to whether Richard Roper’s still alive? Ooooh!

@exlarson.bsky.social Just to say I’ve just finished reading The Splendid and the Vile - what a truly great read. An absolutely staggering amount of research! Had a mental pic of Churchill in some of those scenarios - perhaps best not to go there! Am going to read Colville’s Fringes of Power next.

I was sorry to read that Connie Francis had died. Her single of Carolina Moon is one of my prized possessions. My dad used to sing it to me, and that was how I got my nickname - Lina. And I love Stupid Cupid! #vinyl #ConnieFrancis

Why are cars so big? There was a large VW something or other waiting to take our parking space. The driver started to squeeze the car into it but then realised they wouldn’t be able to open either door… (I drive a 19 year old red Nissan Micra - small, neat and goes like whatsit off a shovel). #cars

I asked my daughter (who has a cake business) for some eatable delish-ness for my birthday. And hey presto - chocolate orange and Oreo brownies. OMG, so delish, I may have to have a birthday at least once a month for the foreseeable future … #birthday #cake #birthdaycake #chocolate

A wonderful theatre programme I have, from the Theatre Royal, Haymarket, c1878. Ellen, or Love’s Cunning by W G Wills. The cast included Florence Terry, who was the sister of Ellen. The adverts are worth a closer look too… #theatre #memorabilia
