#14 Agriculture - The Spiritual Sound

A vast metal landscape. Covering some pretty vast themes as well but it's impossible to be occupied by that unless you can get on with the sound first, because it's very in your face. But if you can, its lavish, joyful and euphoric.

#15 Turnstile - Never Enough

I'm actually a bit disappointed because this doesn't quite stand up next to their last album, Glow On. This doesn't mean it's a bad album though. It's got an unmistakably similar sound: ancient, raccous, ethereal, vibrant.

#16 Dijon - Baby

Lovely evocative production reminiscent with very relatable concepts of every day domestic life, relationships and parenthood. Sometimes the music is taking you to space and suddenly he jumps in and takes you right back to the kitchen.

#17 Spiritbox -Tsunami Sea

There were a handful of records broadly from this strain of metal that I listened to this year, but this was certainly my favourite. It's got that balance of ethereal and transcendent next to a brutal base layer, creating a captivating atmosphere

#18 Wednesday - Bleeds

An emotive album that can get to the heart of something with a few well constructed lines depicting a chaotic existence, all with a fair amount of variety in style during its 35ish minutes. What is there to lose, go listen to it.

#19 Perfume Genius - Glory

This grabbed me after 20 seconds of the opener, 'It's a Mirror'. A few seconds of 'No Front Teeth,' and I was sold on its ability to bring to my mind the theme tune to cult sci-fi series, Firefly. A couple weaker songs later on or it'd be higher

#20 Geese - Getting Killed

Warbling, slightly discomforting, its erratic, chaotic, a bit absurd. Probably not the easiest, but a compelling listen. Think Rufus Wainwright with a bit more edge, if you like. Turns out this comparison is everywhere!

Just so: the plan is to lock the cabin doors to keep the passengers out, fly the plane into the ground and then walk out of the wreckage untouched to fancy jobs at Facebook and PWC. And if you don’t like it, fuck you.

I can remember when it was fun to just laugh at Mel and her hysterical proclamations, and that was about fifteen years ago: before government ministers, senior political commentators and Prime Ministerial advisors started making it very clear that they agree with her.

Guys so ashamed of this bullshit he turned off comments AND quote replies

But 2 things come to mind. Firstly, growing for whom? The predicted inflation figures in the same article spell out the answer.

And secondly if this is the yardstick, he must love Trump's USA, predicted fastest growing

You can absolutely guarantee that Labour's conference is going to include the most unhinged anti-asylum, anti-immigration rhetoric and promises of the type you would more likely to associate with Reform, all couched as "progressive" and "mainstream".
Deep sigh... Okay, for those at the back who missed out on the whole fact that asylum seekers and other migrants already have arduous ID checks, or that, by the very nature of people being undocumented additional, id's are irrelevant in this context. 1/3

It's absolutely spectacular that Labour have chosen, not only to double down on a rapidly toxifying law, but appear to be deciding to impose yet another toxic law on top of it.

The behave like this because they believe there is no serious risk of negative consequences for them or close allies. And why would they? Tony and Alastair showed that if you never apologise and just stare into the camera and say: Fuck You, the right sort of chaps can make out like bandits forever.

Christ almighty
Non-Brits might find it easier to understand why our country is the way it is now, if you know that you really cannot lift a rock near most of our major institutions without something hideous like this leaping out and then scuttering off into the undergrowth.

Indeed: everything would be expensive as fuck; infrastructure would be falling apart with no plan to fix it; politics would be dumb, racist, inflammatory and destructive; Ukraine would’ve got fucked over into ceding territory and Britain might now be deeply complicit in the worst kind of war crimes.

This idiot has brought his stupid liberal idiot reasoning over here. Presumably he thinks once this has happened the public will want the grownups back in charge
I know everything feels grim right now but let's be realistic. These people are idiots. They're going to tank their economy. They're going to fuck-up every deal they sign. They're going to leave America looking shattered and deranged. And all those who supported them will look as idiotic as they are
