The void of demolition offers a perspective on part of a existing building under reconstruction, with its yellow reinforcement structures intended to hold up the facades to be preserved. A billboard highlights the pedestrian space in the city center and declares: "The city is at your feet." It's quite surreal, as this situation is part of a context of incessant cycles of destruction and reconstruction, particularly since work began on the pedestrian zone in 2015.  " La ville est à vos pieds " 2025 Photographie d'un angle détruit de la place de Brouchère à Bruxelles. Le vide laissé par la démolition offre une perspective sur une partie d'un bâtiment existant en reconstruction, avec ses structures de renfort jaunes destinées à soutenir les façades à préserver. Un panneau d'affichage met en valeur l'espace piétonnier du centre-ville et proclame : « La ville est à vos pieds.» C'est assez surréaliste, car cette situation s'inscrit dans un contexte de cycles incessants de destruction et de reconstruction, notamment depuis le début des travaux de la zone piétonne en 2015.

The sculpture in the foreground is "La Bacchante couchée" (1848) by Auguste Clesinger (it depicts a woman overcome by desire as much as by drunkenness in the museum's commentary). The freedom to express one's emotions, to expose oneself or to be exposed, with a possible designation of hysteria, is intertwined in the perceptions of the times. The parts of the two paintings exhibited on either side of the window are "Sans asile" (1883) by Fernand Pelez and "La soupe des pauvres" (1906) by Jules Adler. These images have become a sad reality. with the erosion and questioning of the notion of the welfare state. In the photo, young people observe from the outside and thus find themselves exposed as a living tableau, like a video of the present.
