I've never eaten it but it features in a scene in the movie 'V for Vendetta' in a cooking scene where they call it 'egg in a basket'. I'm from the UK for us 'toad in the hole' is a dish of saugages baked in Yorkshire pudding batter.

The train journeys I regularly used to do from Liverpool to Norfolk were so long that I loved watching hours of anonymous peoples fleeting lives from the train-tracks.

They were very casual about the deaths of the main characters including Zen and the Liberator ship, barely mentioning them?

The transition between end of series and being of the new one is very clunky I noticed in Blake's 7.

I had an electricity smart-meter installed over a year ago. I Inherited an ancient pay-as-you-go meter when I first moved in and the engineer was amazed it was still working.

There's a helluva lot of the series I don't remember but I was surprised about how many vignettes of the early first series episodes I remember? Was it re-run later because I would've been 5 in 1977 when it started and I remember I wasn't even allowed to watch The Goodies around that time?

Funnily enough I knew someone on the other place that lives in the same town as you. He was constantly battling with his broadband supplier who more-or-less gave up on offering him a reliable service because his area was a broadband cul-de-sac?

After singing its praises when it first started, I haven't kept up with any Alien: Earth episodes past ep. 4. I got sidetracked by watching Blake's 7.

Broke a plant pot recently which had sentimental value so I kinda know how you feel. I remember when I first left home in 89 and going to Spoils kitchen reject shop to buy a glass and a mug with an acid house smiley face on it. No idea what happened to em but that mug lasted longer than Spoils shop.

In my Norfolk ag-lab family the highest gap is 35. My grt-grandfather was 22 yrs older that his sister resulting in my grandmother being the same age as her aunt.
According to google, the Guinness World Record for the largest age gap between siblings is 41 years, set by Elizabeth Ann Buttle.

Halloween wasn't a thing when I was growing up in the UK, it went by unmarked in the calendar probably because Guy Fawkes or bonfire night on November 5th was a bigger affair. I don't think I'd even seen a pumpkin in the supermarket until about 1990?

I'm guessing it's slightly better for blokes, especially middle-aged ones like myself where you just buy anything labelled XL for an approximate fit. But you're right with the inconsistency of clothes manufacturers sizing in the UK, it's all over the place.

In Welsh the 'Bard of Avon' would be "Bardd yr Afon" although it literally mean: "the river bard" or "the bard of the river". I suppose before 1996 when Avon ceased to be an English county, you could've said in Welsh something like, "afon yn Avon ydy Afon Avon" = 'River Avon is a river in Avon'.
