By day I'm a producer in the games industry, happily making little spreadsheets and Gantt charts, and by night I improvise nonsense or wander around stage with a microphone.

Coincidentally what I'm spinning this morning!
An open double vinyl sleeve containing Formentera I and Formentera II by Metric. The title is written in cursive across both halves.

I mean, I used to live on Penistone Road.

What’s the word where you’re from that, when pronounced exactly as it looks, identifies a tourist immediately?

The cinema is attached to the National Media Museum and so they have so many cool props all around! I think this is only one of several daleks they have!

God gave people the ability to grow moustaches so we'd know who the villains are.

The venue had a refurbishment at the end of last year to make it wheelchair accessible. So I assume they used the stairlift.

Also, this was in the foyer, which is just fun.
A red dalek.

It also tricked me! Multiple times! I won't say how because it may give it away but I love being tricked by clever writers.

On a personal note, first murder mystery in a while that's made me miss my grandma, a woman who I would regularly swap detective novels I'd borrowed from the library with.

more of a game director job is the same skill as doing improv comedy than any of us would ever like to admit

I listened to them all for the first time a couple of years ago and, apart from being surprised at just how much of it holds up, it was impressive how, I guess, appropriately, bold those two were as characters. Not the best representation, but you can tell groundbreaking and subversive for the time.

Holy shit. That's the best one yet. Clever and twisty and empathetic and pointed and everything I want a murder mystery to be.

Also, one of those forms it definitely didn't need to be on, so getting twice the shock.
mxjlloyd.bsky.social
I saw an official form today that had my name and gender on it, and it does feel strange that that shows male. That is so disconnected to any reality I've felt or expressed for so long it's always a bit of a shock to be reminded.

I think that generally, for an autistic person, I'm pretty good at accepting change, processing it, and reacting positively.

However unfortunately my therapist has grown a moustache since I last saw him and I actually froze up the first time I saw it trying to process it so. Maybe not.

Are there plans to run the sketch writing workshop again? Was booked onto that last year but had to rearrange due to covid.

Actually in honour of the brilliantly hilarious and boundary pushing Julian and Sandy, two obviously gay men on BBC radio prior to the decriminalisation of homosexuality, a question for The Comedy Bureau - Who were the first openly queer performers?

Someone at the show tried to stop me from using the gents. Julian and Sandy would be proud.

I looked at mine the other day and it is depressing.

If anybody who follows me is in Manchester I’m doing XS malarkey tomorrow. Pat and I haven’t been on the same bill together for about 17years

Be careful what you wish for. Because it might not happen and then you'll be Sad.

So I've never actually seen a Carry On film! I think the limited amount I know about them just made me assume they were probably too dated to enjoy.

The other observation, which isn't an original one, is that Betty Marsden was so talented and had such incredible comedic range and should have been a massive comedy star.
