At some point as a kid, I realized that a lot of the "good" characters in HP were as much bullies as the "bad" characters. I kinda thought it was an intentional moral challenge that needed to be overcome for growth.
Now I wonder if JKR can even see it. She wrote a mean punishment-driven world.
