Also why is it cringe to sing about modern themes with modern language? Someone would have been the first to sing about a phone call or an email or a text or the radio or tv. Someone else would have been the first to use a slang term in their song… and none of that was cringe!

It is! It says so much more about the people making these connections than it does about Taylor. Like they are the ones making up all these negative interpretations and saying it’s about Kayla. Those are their thoughts, their words, it’s what they are thinking about Kayla.

I saw one person say it’s because opalite is white?! So Taylor was “clearly” saying Kayla was onyx/night & that Travis found daylight when he “suddenly” switched to a white woman…. someone replied saying “Opalite is blue, so unless Taylor is secretly a Smurf, she’s not talking about skin colour.” 💀

It’s a similar shade to mine, a dark blonde. It can look darker or lighter depending on the lighting (compare the top left to the right in my selfie). I’ve noticed Taylor’s does the same too, her hair looks lighter in other recent interviews where the light hits more directly.

I am not being exploited because I’m listening to music I enjoy!!! Taylor isn’t holding a gun to my head forcing me to listen - or even to buy merch or any of the variants she releases. Or having fun at concerts. Those are my own decisions as a grown ass woman. 🧵
