Someone on Twitter ordered the Merlot. So here I am.

I’m finding myself torn between a “Try to find the humour in it all” and a “This looks like a good place to start digging my bomb shelter” mindset so I might try writing some satire while on my breaks from mixing cement.
I usually speed when I’m driving but that’s because all the speed limit signs around here are just normal-sized signs and I don’t think they’re serious signs but once Doug Ford spends millions putting up bigger speed limit signs I will definitely not be speeding anymore because then it’s serious.

Corrupt AND incompetent.

I loathe this government.

I guess Big Pole must’ve made a sizeable donation to Doug’s latest election campaign.

NEW: Ontario’s transparency watchdog has been forced to “intervene” after the solicitor general’s office repeatedly ignored orders to release information.

It’s part of a trend which has also raised questions about political interference. #OnPoli

Ontario watchdog ‘intervening’ after solicitor general ignores transparency orders | Globalnews.ca
There have been several instances in recent years where the IPC has told the solicitor general's office to release information, only for the government to ignore the decree.

It really has been interesting the last while to see Doug Ford's outbursts. The true Ford. From "get a job" to "audit orgs that might support left wing causes". The authoritarian belligerent bully that had no staff to muzzle him in City Hall days is still there. Does Ontario see? Do they care?
November 26, 2025 at 3:04 PM
Ontario feels seen.
This is how our government has been corrupted:

1) Donors give huge sums to elect politicians to office
2) Elected officials rewrite rules in the donors' favor
3) Donors make huge profit
4) Repeat

We must get big money out of politics.

It is the root of our dysfunction.

Say the only people you care about are land developers and construction unions without saying the only people you care about are land developers and construction unions.

I just hope Doug launches a thorough investigation into Marit Stiles and the NDP to get to the bottom of this.

“What’s disturbing about the scandal though, is how blatant it is. Political appointees are handing out hundreds of millions of dollars from a public slush fund to organizations that are either close to the government or that hire the right political insiders.”

Star Editorial Board: Doug Ford’s latest scandal is almost too brazen to be believed
It suggests Ford has established a system where public money is being handed out not based on need or merit but on who you know or who you pay

Saw my neighbour Steve today and he said he wasn’t feeling well so I asked him what was wrong. He said “I think I got a bad chicken wiener” and now I’m never going to ask my neighbour Steve anything ever again.

Doug: Okay we need another distraction from the Skills Development thing.

Staffer: How about something booze related? People love that.

Doug: No, not everyone likes the wobbly pops. We need something to distract everyone.

Staffer: Cheesecake?

Doug: Done it.

Staffer: I know! Puppies and kittens!

Doug Ford sure seems especially antsy and defensive these days.

That’s it. That’s the tweet.

And after Doug does that, he'll knock down the east wing of Queens Park to make room to build a Stag n Doe ballroom.

I keep a spreadsheet to track all of Doug Ford's ongoing boondoggles, bamboozles and scandals and when I just tried to open it on my new laptop it said the file was too big to open.

"...we're creating more affordable units for people to buy because we are creating more supply," said [Housing Minister] Flack.

...the province has quietly backed away from its goal of building 1.5 million homes over 10 years by 2031.

Flack has been noncommittal on that goal."

I think the Greenbelt thing was one thing - Doug allowing his buddies to profit using inside help - but this Skills Development thing is something else entirely: Doug giving our money to buddies to enrich them - and to help get Doug re-elected.
