Were not on Medicaid,
current w bills and finally got a job w good insurance. Hired in 92, promised insurance for life, mom went on strike, I walked out, took a pay cut
They took that extra insurance from us in 2018-2 years after I retired
True story-American medical care
Many folks have it worse

Second child had seizures at 12. Had to research myself. Hard to get help. More crazy bills. Less coverage.
My kids learned that the insurance package from employer was paramount
When ACA arrived, we were so grateful.
But told it didn’t apply to us. Smh

Rented, because that was only choice
Money was tough
Made bread and all meals at home
Could feed family on 1 chicken and veggies for a week
Sewed clothing-cheaper then-lived w 1 car for a long time
No AC in house or car-lived in hottest part of US
grew food
My opinion: things have not changed

because of some weird phrasing about the first few weeks
Salary 20000 per year (CPA), and deductibles were 2000 per person-8000 for family.
Kids were sick a lot, implications that we were bad parents
It was horrifying
Had to charge food and meds to credit cards
Daycare was 165 per month

born in 1953. Married in 1973. Kids in 77 and 81
We didn’t worry too much about insurance until my 81 baby had seizures at 6 weeks
HMOs were just starting-Except Kaiser, which cared for me in the Bay Area as a child
Within 2 weeks, we had $10000 in medical bills.
Baby not covered

And yet, I’ve never accepted this properly.
I kick and scream through these changes.
Sometimes gracefully; sometimes inappropriately.

Still a work in progress.

The effect of GLP-1RA exenatide on idiopathic intracranial hypertension: a randomized clinical trial
Therapeutics to reduce intracranial pressure are an unmet need. Preclinical data have demonstrated a novel strategy to lower intracranial pressure using glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor signalling. Here, we translate these findings into ...

What about how PEM makes long Covid so much worse? I’m sure I read evidence that those recovering for Covid l are less likely to get long Covid and complications if they take their recovery slowly and gently.
