🚨 There’s a lot of horrific news out of Washington right now—but you might have missed this: Senate Republicans just introduced a plan to sell off 120 million acres of our public lands.

Let me break down what’s in the bill and why it’s a full-scale land grab. 🧵

Authoritarians depend on you obeying in advance and not resisting. Every act of disruption weakens them and slows down their plan. It's a crack. The cracks add up. This is why what Cory Booker is doing is important compared to the weak complicity of Schumer and others.

The other crazy thing about this is that it shows that Musk and his entourage *THINK THAT WHAT HE DID AT TWITTER ACTUALLY WORKED* and was a good plan.

The levels of delusion are fairly stunning.
Again, it's all right out of the Twitter playbook, as @kateconger.com and @rmac.bsky.social covered in their book. SAME EXACT THING.

Except there he at least had the authority to do this. Here he does not.

We lost our homes, our businesses, and our livelihoods. It was a devastating time.

Today I hear echoes of that time in the plans of the Trump administration. They want to round up and deport millions of undocumented migrants and deploy the military and build detention camps to carry this out. /3

I’m starting to think that the longer we shield Trump voters from the worst economic outcomes, the worse things actually will get.

Sometimes people just have to find out the hard way, sad as that is. Yes, we will suffer. But at least they will learn that elections do have consequences.
