Maybe kill the part of yourself that takes it personally when someone is critical of art you love? Because A) they really are just considering the art thru their specific viewpoint and expectations, B) their experience doesn't take away from yours and C) it's fun to think critically about art u like

CONCEPT 1: Long hair Richter and Olrox stare at each other in a medditerrian setting as the buildings connect each other, slightly desaturated but there's greenery. The camera is set to look up at them both instead of straight ahead or downwards, making them both look more powerful AND both at the same height

sky is a mix of purple and blue

CONCEPT 1 continued:

Lights up area as it furthers deeper into the night as the two walk past each other

CONCEPT 2:

Instead of a city/building area, the two are outside allowing for more space and less harsh borders

CONCEPT 2 CONTINUED :

These two walk past each other as the night gets deeper, in turn keeping the more muted darker colours BUT NOW, these two share a similar colour palette due to compositing and colour grading

my brain going brrr again, i miss analyzing nocturne so here's a small thing

OK SO, I hope this makes any sense but i also noticed with light too so im going break this down into boxes and light, however theres more to breakdown with this.

BOXES/LINES-
In season 1, Richter is literally boxed in by lampposts, buildings and shipmasts. We never see him walk past these WHILE Olrox does and the entire shot we walks past basically every single line. Throughout the show, we see Richter walk past all of these metaphorical barriers. In season 2, Richter isnt barred by any of these because the literal placement and perspective has changed, giving way more room for the both of them but also because of how Richter is placed he doesn't have any buildings in his way to symbolise how he's over obstacles.

SHADOW/LIGHT/COLOUR-

In seaosn 1, the light comes down from the left diagonally and Richter is encompassed by shadow and is in the literal shadow of Olrox as he walks away. Olrox is literally and intentionally rim lit too. This scene too is also really grey and the only really colourful thing is Olrox in this one shot alone.
In season 2, Richter MADE the light that rim lights him and in turn, the entire scene is comped differently to be way more blue and colourful. Instead of Olrox casting a shadow onto Richter, Richter casts a light onto Olrox from the right diagonally. So compostionally the like... boxed range looks the same but its entirely different.

Second part of me yapping:

In both scenes, Richter watches Olrox leave his life, but the sole difference is either haunted by his presence to acceptance of it. Olrox walks out in season 1 implying more of a physical presence remains regardless, especially contextually as the shot that follows after is Olrox walking over Julia's corpse THEN turning into smoke. Olrox leaves as a misty shadow in season 2 then and there instead of repeating season 1 beat for beat which says a lot of things, that this is the beginning to end the cycle of violence and theyre breaking out of it. Slowly but surely. Also it repeats the rehortic of "The morning sun has vanquished the horrible night" because shadows are similar to night and Olrox himself changes from being just a spy to activevly helping out Richter in defeating Drolta, aka someone who was trying to keep up this "horrible night". Olrox leaves in a shadowy mist, the last remants of the night. The night is gone to daylight and matches Richter's flame.

OK I HOPE THAT MADE SENSE idk i could yap more about this in general but i do have to crunch the last two weeks
