I think snowy landscape sometimes let you spot things you might otherwise miss. For example, this beautiful Red Fox was spotted trotting along a stream in a field that is usually many shades of browns this time of year and I imagine it would make the fox very hard to see on any other day. #nature
This is a Golden Crowned Kinglet in full display. What a cool tiny little bird. #birds #birdphotography #canonr7 #canonr7wildlife

We discovered a set of ponds owned by a HoA yesterday that was full of Snow Geese. We spent an hour or so watching them from the walkway and snapped some pictures. I like this one as three birds were circling the pond look for a spot to park. #birds #snowgeese #lancasterpa

Cold morning yesterday but finally was able to get out for some birding! This Eastern Bluebird was watching the ground and would occasionally fly down and grab something and then fly back to perch and watch in a tree along a field. #birds #easternbluebird #canonr7 #lancasterpennsylvania

We had heard there was a western bird - a Townsend’s Solitaire visiting Pennsylvania where I live. So the Mrs and I took a ride to the location and actually found it! What a cool thing to find a bird so far out of its home range. #birds #birdphotography #nature #naturephotography #PAWilds

We found a few birds willing to pose at Gettysburg Battlefield. I processed all these with Skylums Luminar Neo without reading the manual. (It’s a guy thing!😂) So they may look different than usual. 🤷🏻‍♂️ #birds #nature #birdphotography #wildlifephotography #gettysburg

Here is a picture of an Eastern Meadowlark. I had never seen one of these before. It was cool to have one land close enough to snap a photo. #birds #birdphotography #nature #wildlife #naturephotography #wildlifephotography #canonr7

Yesterday while looking for owls to photograph we happened upon a male Northern Harrier. He was flying the same field for a couple of hours! I have a ton of pictures of him. Here’s a few! #birds #birdphotography #nature #wildlife #naturephotography #wildlifephotography #canonr7

Happy Sunday! My wife and I went to a local area with confirmed sightings of short eared owls to see if we could get some photos. Lucky for us there were two flying and I was able to get some photos of both of them! #birds #owls #wildlife #wildlifephotography #nature #naturephotography #canonr7

Here is a picture of a Red Shouldered Hawk at Gettysburg National Battlefield in Pennsylvania. I watched him from a tree and knew he was looking at something but didn’t know what he saw or when he’d make his move. Here he is right before attack. Unfortunately he missed! But still a cool shot. #birds

Here are some bluebirds sitting atop field stubble on the Battlefields of Gettysburg on a very cold new years morning. I like how they’re puffed up trying to stay warm. #birds #birdphotography

Here is a picture of a chick-a-Dee snatching a seed off a stalk in the field stubble on the Battlefield at Gettysburg. Taken on New Years Day. #birds #birdphotography

A Cooper’s hawk spotted on New Years Day! Pretty uninteresting just sitting on a phone line like this but I really like the picture. Those intense eyes! #birds #birdphotography

Here’s some photos of an uncommon visitor to our area. A Ross’s Goose! It’s like a little mini snow goose. There was one hanging with a flock of Canada Geese. Not sure how it ended up here. I hope it finds its way to where its friends are. #birds #birdphotography

Finally found a Northern Harrier. Pretty sure this is a female. Photographed in Pennsylvania.

Bald Eagle after lift off. It was feeding on a deer roadkill in a field and I guess finally had enough of me staring at it. #birds

This is one of the first “good” photos I ever took. It is a Broad-winged Hawk and I took this last summer while camping. I hadn’t had my Canon R10 and RF 100-400 for very long and was happy to finally get a good photo! #birds

This little White Throated Sparrow was sitting on the branch waiting his turn at the feeders outside my kitchen window. #birds

This is a Tundra Swan from the far north. We have known swans to winter over in our local ponds. Hopefully they stay awhile.
