The real questions to be asking are: Why aren't any of the Republicans in power doing their jobs? Why are they not upholding the oath they took to the United State Constitution? Why aren't they looking out for their own constituents? Why aren't they making this stop?

The people who should be speaking up and out are the Republicans currently in office. They are the legitimate leaders NOW. They are on our tax-funded payroll NOW.
The Republicans control all 3 branches of our federal government, and they have the power to stop the country from burning RIGHT NOW.

Why should they speak up and out? They're no longer in positions of power. They had a job once, they no longer have that job. They're no different from any other civilian at this point.

If you're looking to learn more about this, I highly recommend Stamped from the Beginning by Ibrim X Kendi. I was raised in a color blind household, and Stamped from the Beginning taught me A LOT about the history of racism in the US my family and teachers somehow "forgot" to mention or teach.

I definitely agree AOC works hard for us, and she would be an amazing president. I would absolutely vote for her in a heartbeat.
I worry the rest of the US would not, much the way the rest of the US voted for Trump, even knowing about Project 2025 and his plans to gut USAID.
