It was sad to see @alastaircampbell2.bsky.social refer to Tony Blair as a “fine man” in the recent episode of @therestpolitics.bsky.social just how Trump fans support Trump. In fact worse. Trump hasn’t got blood on his hands like TB. Unbecoming of a politician of Alastair’s experience and knowledge

Alastair, What do you have to say to the news of #TonyBlair running post-war Gaza, given his track record (irrespective of intentions)? Do you think this'll help healing Gazans' trust or raise doubts? Will you still remain subtly protective of your friend? @campbellclaret

An unfair analysis of Australia's action on climate change IMO. The gist is that a country shouldn't host a COP if it isn't doing much in the way of CC mitigation. Well then there might not be any country in the world worthwhile to host one.

Hosting COP next year could be a case of be careful what you wish for
It seemed like a good idea from the opposition when Albanese was leading it, but it’s now a more delicate proposition.

Climate models have underestimated the departure of high temperature extremes from monthly means.

If we assume these model biases persist in future projections, then the climate models are also likely underestimating the magnitude of future high temperature extremes.

Historical model biases in monthly high temperature anomalies indicate under-estimation of future temperature extremes - Communications Earth & Environment
Models tend to underestimate mean monthly maximum temperature anomalies by 2-3% and extreme anomalies by 11-12% over the period 1980 and 2023, which could lead to temperatures 3 °C to 5 °C higher than...
