Thanks to BNSF for yet another train sparked fire in the Gorge forcing people and their animals to evacuate while burning down the National Scenic Area. As if the poor fire fighters don’t have enough to contend with.

Today, the Environmental Protection Agency announced it will shut down its Office of Research and Development and eliminate thousands of agency jobs. According to the agency, this office has long served as the scientific backbone of its efforts to protect both public health and the environment.

If you live in the Columbia River Gorge and are “a helper”, a group is getting together online (FB🤮) to help people affected by the Burdoin wild fire. Get in touch with Ivy Carpe on FB🤢 she’s a rockstar community organizer and helped a lot of us during the Tunnel Fire.

I really hope people understand what cutting funding for NIH means for personal health and well being when it comes to health issues like cancer, diabetes, genetic anomalies, preventing birth defects, etc. We have just allowed ourselves to be set back decades. We are no longer the locus of hope..

And while our “representatives” are in WDC working hard to strangle us with their appeasement to the orange one, farmers are dropping fruit because they can’t find pickers. This is their livelihood!! And it feeds us all. Elect a farmer in your next election.

Senate Republicans slog through Trump’s tax bill after overcoming resistance - The Washington Postcan somebody please remind these people who they work for? WE the people are a mixed bunch. When EVERYONE has issues with the smelly bill, it’s a sign it will affect your chances of regaining your seat.

We own an orchard and a vineyard … just watching what is happening as picking seasons are either now or a in few weeks think apples and cherries. Most of our workers come up from Mexico on guest worker visas and work until the harvest is in. We are short 2/3 of our workforce this year. Guess why?
