Yesterday I joined the #homerathon at the National Hellenic Museum as they read the entire Odyssey (in English translation, with guest appearances by several other languages). I got the bow stringing scene. It was good fun, and a nice return to my classics roots.

More than 30 years ago) as a Latin teacher I self-published a pair of Latin textbooks. Miraculously, last month I was able to export them to PDF with a CC by-nc-sa licence.

Here they are for any Latin scholars out there. 😁

Cool to see a rave review of Adrian Holovaty's jazz album in Acoustic Guitar. Really good stuff.
And while I love Soundslice, he's also one of the creators of something else in Python... (Hint: he plays gypsy jazz guitar... in the style of Django Reinhardt.)

Five-song EP blends manouche rhythms and fingerstyle flourishes into intricate, buoyant instrumentals.

I've been using and refining my ear training app, and here is the lasted version and what I've learned.

The good news is my interval recognition now sucks somewhat less. 💪 #python #jupyter #music21

Maryland flooding has cancelled my train and shaved a few hours off of both ends of my trip to #PyCon, but I will be there! (I think 🤞)

What a joy (not) to see that my IP has been used without my permission for the feeding of AI models...
People pirating my book to READ it is one thing, probably they wouldn't have bought it anyway, maybe they'll tell someone else about it, etc.
But seeing it used to feed the AI beast... 🖕

To celebrate the release of the 4th edition, my publisher @manningbooks.bsky.social is offering 50% off of all formats with the code PBceder5 through March 17.

3 years ago, I talked with Oliver Haimson about trans technologies. I just received a copy of the finished book, which is interesting indeed. My part in it is tiny, but I'm pleased that I and Trans*Code are mentioned as part of the section on community based and anti-capitalist projects.
