Jimmy Kimmel and other late-night comedians have certainly said things about me that I found offensive, even outrageous.

It never crossed my mind to call up the networks and say, "Hey, get rid of this guy."

Because that's not how America works.

Got no particular issue with Nicola Sturgeon, but I think it's a tough sell to say she is more charismatic than Kamala or Hillary!
Did Donald Trump win because Hillary and Kamala lacked charisma? Are Starmer and Reeves similarly too lacking in X factor? And was it a bad idea for a husband and wife to run the SNP?

Toxic floods of lies on social media platforms like Facebook have destroyed trust not fact checkers. Let me reiterate: Mark Zuckerberg has never cared about that and never will.
"We're going to get rid of fact-checkers and replace them with community notes, similar to X, starting in the U.S," Mark Zuckerberg announces

He asserts that "the fact-checkers have just been too politically biased, and have destroyed more trust than they've created, especially in the U.S."

As @davidpepperoh.bsky.social has written, this also means that there are politicians who face no competition, feel no need to be interested in voters and can be as corrupt and/or extreme as they like
Competition in 2024 House races was scarce, with only 37 districts decided by 5 or fewer percentage points. For the most part, it’s because of gerrymandering.
