Hello, this is Leslee, the woman who was sitting with Sam Maggs for much of Baltimore CC last year. (For context.) I acknowledge that I have a (negative) bias regarding AI stemming from reading Bradbury's Illustrated Man too young, but I find this genuinely nightmarish.

It might be because I'm Old, or cynical AF, or a lot of things, but that part didn't surprise me at all.

As I mentioned, I'm not at NPS. And it's hard, even for those of us who are in the thick of it (I'm on the exec board of my union chapter) to have great insight into other agencies. If I had to take a guess? Still a terrifying shitshow.

Weirdly, I DID just replace all my smoke detectors. Did you know they expire? Home ownership. Always an adventure. Usually an annoyingly expensive one.

I say as an exhausted federal worker who's been terrified of AI ever since I read The Illustrated Man at far too young an age, between Dipshit McGillicuddy and AI, it's kinda 6 to 1, half dozen to the other, yeah?
