I blame people that voted or passively allowed Brexit to bloom. Where connections to mainland Europe were seen as detriment. Blame the affluent Brits and not a diaspora that for long time earned below the average.

My friend of close to a decade didn't know what Holocaust was. PhD educated. I pushed and presented about Polish sciences to young researchers, to complete disinterest.

I mean. UK became really openly racist. There's decline, but it's due to austerity and privatisation. In my academic sector, fall of international students hit funding of the universities. Britian is broken, but it is its own undoing.

How some people spent two decades pointing at savage barbarians from the East as UK's major problem (🇷🇴, too) and now try to run "exodus of CEE migrants is a proof that Labour failed Britain" stories will never not be hilarious.

"As a community, we've largely failed" we didn't, we existed, we collaborated, it's the British that didn't respond, that only accepted us once fully integrated and never mentioned Poland. The complete cultural disinterest.

It's absolutely ridiculous that the very same papers and media outlets that then lambasted and villified Poles *every single day* are now using them again for their domestic agenda to advance the narrative of Britain's decline.

Or that anyone is buying this. Again!?
