maybe we should think less of how to make things into roguelikes and think more about how to make roguelikes into other things. we need to distill the pure joy of roguelike progression into something more substantial rather than splitting it up into 30-minute chunks

rpgs are such interesting people to speak to. they always have something to say like "you can only cast magic in this dungeon"

game design is a beautiful and romantic language... it's nice, sometimes friendly, sometimes a bit more malicious, but a conversation nonetheless. idk how far i can extend this metaphor i like rpgs
