What is wrong with giving a new leader a chance? A new approach, a fresh approach. Someone who has integrity, leadership skills, represents a key state, has guts and the confidence of the base. Time to put ego aside and screw seniority. This is my nominee.

It’s shocking that Democratic leadership in the Senate have their heads in the sand. This will destroy the Democratic Party, our country, and erode global democratic civilization.
I think some in the Senate have convinced themselves that the backlash to folding will be limited to “the left” and therefore ignorable.

Those people are deeply and profoundly misreading the moment and the stakes.

Virtually every swing district House Dem walked the plank to vote NO for a reason.

I'm a hard NO on the Republican spending bill. On cloture. On all of it.

When a wannabe dictator is trying to seize power, it must not be given to him.

Not without a fight.

I am extremely concerned about the arrest and detention of Mahmoud Khalil, an advocate and legal permanent resident of Palestinian descent.

My office is monitoring the situation, and we are in contact with his attorney.

Remember: If unions didn’t matter, powerful corporations wouldn’t spend millions of dollars every year to stop them from forming. Keep up the fight.

CEO pay is up 1,085% since 1978, while typical worker pay is up just 24%.

Why do we always hear "we can't afford to pay our workers more" but never "we can't afford to pay our CEO more"?

When Amazon launched in 1995, there were 5,500 indie bookshops in the U.S., with 7,000 locations. By May of 2023, that number had decreased to 2,185 indies & 2,599 locations.

When you purchase audiobooks via Libro.fm vs. Audible, you directly support indie bookshops. Let's make that number grow ❤️

This hysteria is not just obscenely transphobic, it’s misogynistic. My 10 year old cis daughter is the faster kid in her class, she doesn’t need feigned concern and scape goating, but she will need reproductive healthcare. That’s what’s unfair and unsafe for girls.

Troy Jackson is the real deal, he’s been fighting for working and rural people his entire career. In 2016, I joined Senator Jackson on a trip to NH to knock on doors for Bernie sanders. He’s also no wilting violet and holds his ground.
Former Maine Senate President Troy Jackson, a Democrat from Allagash, announced Friday he is exploring a 2026 run for governor.
He said the last election made it clear that Democrats in Washington, D.C. are not doing enough to understand the frustrations of working people.

How gut wrenching, our federal government is clearly targeting poor babies and children, here and abroad. In Maine, this policy will overwhelmingly affect poor, white families who lack transportation in a rural state. This is Trump’s demographic, let’s change that. Let’s fight for these families.

More than 13,000 people were killed in drunk driving crashes in 2024, and that doesn’t include impairment by other substances. This is what I’m scared of, this poses the greatest threat to my children. Data, not hate, should drive policy.

When Trump effectively shuts down the NLRB, corporate bosses can illegally fire workers who are trying to form a union and flagrantly violate labor laws.

Today, I am reintroducing the PRO Act to strengthen unions, and restore power and legal rights to workers.

Serving as an elected, reform prosecutor in rural Midcoast Maine, I see what failed policy has done to my community. No affordable housing, no mental healthcare infrastructure, generational poverty. As leaders we need to witness the human cost of failure, and we need to fight for justice for all.
