In what feels like several lifetimes ago...young me believed the "self made rich" were smart/wise etc.
Real life was slowly eroding my mental model then social media nuked it completely.
Apparently, bold stupidity is a REQUIREMENT to find yourself insanely rich these days.

IMHO it's a term lame journalists use to sound hip. Same energy as a WASP referencing gangster rap.

What I really like about it is that it removes one of the main status symbols of rich kids vs poor kids if they are all rocking the same $30 Nokia.

A teacher friend told me her school gave every student a "dumb phone". Sorta like handing out chrome books. They are just for calling/texting and they are allowed to use them to coordinate with parents etc.
I think that's a great cost effective solution.

True. It's fascinating watching beef producers I personally know freak out about the Argentina deal. They've been fine with the terrorizing of their Hispanic labor force. Fine with everyone else's pain. But when a piece of THEIR pie is threatened? Nope. Bridge too far. Disgusting.
