We saw it in early October. Loved it! Incredibly well done. There were people in the audience who came because Keanu and didn't know what they were getting into. They did not return after intermission.

The states do conduct the General election for President. As for @daveapong.bsky.social's question, the basic constitutional principal is that the Federal government may not tell a political party how (process) to pick its nominees, so the short answer is no. The parties could consider them tho.

The "States" are NOT "conducting" the Presidential Preference Primaries, a/k/a the PPP's. The Parties are conducting their PPP's as the first step in the delegate selection process to choose their nominee; and, by agreement, the Parties are using the state election infrastructure to hold their PPPs.

to conduct their primaries subject to certain, mostly practical, conditions. I think using RCV in Democratic Presidential Preference Primaries is definitely worth considering. I would need to know more about the particulars and think about the impact on delegate selection. Any such...

The gov't may not tell a political party how it chooses its nominees, but the issues are cost and "infrastructure" (in the case of RCV, that would be equipment programmed for RCV counting). Historically, the states and parties have agreed that the parties can use the states' election infrastructure
