Even when it is floating in mid-air, wobbling like a planet without a moon, Holmstrom has the puck on a string.

For other players around the league, the puck deflects off the ice and out of reach, but Simon didn't say bounce.

Everyone panicked when Horvat went down, but the only times Isles miss him is when they're on penalty kill, power play, or even-strength.

There must be a happy medium between covering up a president's cognitive decline and giving him free rein.

Matthew Schaefer is on pace for 57 regular season points in 82 games, at age 18 years, 3 months.

Victor Hedman, Quinn Hughes, and Cale Makar were all over-21 when they surpassed 57 for their career.

Close call in Dallas, but Rantanen was fortunately able to stabilize himself with a little help from Kuemper's head.
December 16, 2025 at 2:58 AM
Isles are on-pace for 102 points.

112-pt pace in their last 30 games, against largely tough competition.

Next six weeks are mostly mediocre to bad opponents (plus one MIN, one PHI). Can Isles keep intensity up?

Will PK remain good? Will PP improve? Will Sorokin hold together?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Isles wouldn't have Heineman if not for the Pat Lafontaine trade, right?

Isles now have the most points in the last 30 games, for Eastern Conference teams, via Natural Stat Trick:

Kreider puts one in for Isles and doesn't crash into any goalies tonight.
December 12, 2025 at 2:43 AM
Not a very good period by Isles, up 3-0.

I wrote a book. If you know any massage therapists (or aspiring ones), this could make a great gift.

Written mainly for MTs in their first few years, but there’s plenty in there for more experienced MTs who want to rethink their workflow, make their days less stressful.

Going by points percentage, only six of the top 19 teams in the NHL are in the West:

1 COL
2 DAL
4 ANA
6 VGK
9 MIN
10 LAK

TOR, NYR, and FLA are all ahead of #20 EDM (7th in West), while CBJ have the same 13-11-6 record.
December 10, 2025 at 3:43 PM
After Thursday's game vs ANA, Isles will have played 6 of the 8 games vs top four West teams (2 COL, 1 DAL, 1 ANA, 2 VGK).

They have gained 8 of 10 points in these matchups.

After ANA, 10 of the next 11 West opponents for Isles are currently ranked 20th-32nd in the NHL by points %.

Regulation and OT wins vs top-10 teams (pts%):

PIT:... MIN, WSH, PHI, TBL

NYI:... WSH, DAL, TBL, COL, TBL, VGK (OT)
NJD:... TBL, MIN, COL (OT)
NYR:... PIT, TBL, CAR, DAL (OT)
CBJ:... MIN, TBL, DAL

(We know CAR and WSH are for-real, but what about the other 6?)
December 8, 2025 at 4:39 PM
Isles now have the best record in the East in the last 25 games (15 wins, 14 ROW), and have taken down the top two in the West in dramatic fashion, while limiting TBL to one goal in 120 minutes in the past five days.
December 7, 2025 at 3:12 AM
The past 23 games TBL have been held to fewer than two goals twice—both against NYI.
December 7, 2025 at 2:37 AM
Isles are now 9-0-0 when taking 25 or fewer SOGs this season. (Six regulation wins, three OT wins.)
December 7, 2025 at 2:34 AM
This is remarkable, below.

Also the only team to hold Lightning to a single goal in TBL's last 20 games.

And the only team with 40+ SOGs or 6 goals vs COL this season.
December 5, 2025 at 3:51 PM
Isles have taken 46 SOGs against Aves while in the lead.

No one else in the NHL has 20 so far this season.

via Natural Stat Trick
December 5, 2025 at 2:57 AM
Isles are the first team to score five goals vs Aves in regulation this season.
December 5, 2025 at 2:08 AM
If Isles played as well in the games they SHOULD win as they did their 10 toughest games this season, they'd be top-5 in the NHL.

What is this team?
December 5, 2025 at 2:04 AM
Schaefer is up to +13 for individual penalty differential this season. (18 penalties drawn, 5 taken)

Makar is down to +2. (8-6)
