but srsly, you should sponsor. fjall is a work of art. 🙌

If you sponsor NOW (github.com/sponsors/fja...), you can get an exclusive preview of version 3!!

jk I pushed the first pre-release to crates.io - it's unstable though! Breakages guaranteed, and some APIs are missing!

bye

When people choose to take transit vs their personal automobile, everyone's lives are a little better. Let's get incentives right: mass transit should be free, charge people per use who clog public roads with their personal vehicle. Fair’s fair.

Makes you question: why do mass transit riders pay per trip, while road time is free for personal vehicles?

This scene had been waiting for me to paint the details in properly for forever. I finally got there last week. :)
A man stands in a cave full of fungus, holding his arm out to a device connected to a glowing bridge of a translucent orange material.

one take is, you can doing really interesting things, that don't require a lot of throughput. so, keep it simple: if your stack requires more than a disposable vape to run on, question: where'd i go wrong?

You can try out the working example. Remember, it's multi-player, so be nice!

I'm excited to have stumbled across Datastar: it feels like the missing UI layer I've been looking for.

This screencast walks through building a multi-player reactive TodoMVC example using Datastar w/ Nushell + cross.stream on the backend

Modern LLMs help mitigate the biggest obstacle to adopting Rust: satisfying its notoriously strict compiler. In turn, Rust mitigates the biggest obstacle to adopting LLMs: its notoriously strict compiler keeps the LLM honest.

I'm making a point & click adventure game about unusual places and unusual ideas.
A man stands in the rain, near a giant skull cave, car wrecks and glowing fungi. Against a purple sky he says "Ever since, it's like I don't fit my own body properly. Like I'm wearing a suit that's too big or something."

A prompting strategy I really like is:

"ask me one question at a time to tease out of me..."

i'd love to see your experiments on this front.

@maggieappleton.com describes "the command-line wall" in her barefoot developers talk

a idea i'm hoping to test is that @nushell.bsky.social may provide a pole-vault to help get, say excel formula savvy, users over Maggie's wall
