I’m halfway through A Drop of Corruption by Robert Jackson Bennett and enjoying it so much, but then I realised that ‘I have a perfect memory and the world is weird’ is literally the summary of Wolfe’s Book of the New Sun. And then I remembered Small Gods. How is THIS a niche?!

John Uri Lloyd’s ‘Etidorpha’ is fun because it’s a Jules Verne style science fiction story, but it also has illustrations like this, and some of the ‘science’ bits are a guy being like ‘hey, want to see your own brain?’

Doing line work was the hardest part, easily. I had almost zero experience drawing line art before Old Skies. I still feel very weak at it. Probably the biggest weakness of the game, visually!

Didn’t expect to become the oversized version of Kirk Hammett but here we are.

Played lots of cool games in 2025, but the coolest was a 1987 pirate romance text adventure by Amy Briggs, who was also Ron Gilbert’s babysitter.

I stayed up to midnight finishing Robert Jackson Bennett’s ‘The Tainted Cup’ last night and it’s not Caves of Qud the detective novel but it’s probably as close as we’re gonna get. 🫡

We can only describe our character designs as preposterously luscious!

Here's a detailed look at how we created the neighbours you'll be meeting in our upcoming game, Mandrake.

The moon is bright tonight, but so is Jupiter. Orion seems bigger than ever - I was thinking about Betelguese today while drawing, unable to comprehend such a massive object. Now it flickers gently as I watch. I stand out here eating bread and golden syrup and I know this is where stories come from.

Since November, I'm working with a new team on a new project!
I'm giving a hand to Tohu Bohu and @quentinvijoux.bsky.social on their game Beware of the Cartographer!✨

I finalize colorization, add a few assets and give life to the panorama by animating some elements with frame-by-frame animation

In quiet, sad moments where I can finally bring myself to accept that the bit I have been working on is bad, I can finally give myself the space and perspective to figure out how to make it less bad. It is freeing and uplifting.

I feel like every scene I draw for Gilt is a real struggle and I am never satisfied, but then I put the character sprites over my WIPs and seeing them hanging out in that world makes me happy.

We don't know. What we do know is the wiring diagram works. We built it, virtually, in @godotengine.org. We fed it scans of the books we found.

And the books are very, very strange. The "game" that resulted is also strange.

We're hoping people can make sense of it for us.
