I only read The Tainted Cup recently, but it and the sequel were so fun, easy to read, and imaginative that I have been suggesting it to people recently. So if you’re looking for newer recs, it might be worth a look! Won the Hugo for best novel too!

I await your reflections on Dune and Ishiguro giddily. Have you read The Tainted Cup, or if not is it on your radar at all?

I was under the impression that he was wildly influential, on everybody from Lovecraft to Stephen King. Even though he’s less talked about than some of his contemporaries, he seems to be one of those quietly influential figures (a bit like Gene Wolfe of modern years).

I understand that! And frankly, I have a CRT monitor hooked up to a Win7 machine, I just don’t use it often enough. Partially because the CRT eye strain is just as painful as it ever was back in the day.

I yearn to see all those games on the right screen.
