I get that the news cycle is packed right now, but I just heard from a colleague at the Smithsonian that this is fully a GIANT SQUID BEING EATEN BY A SPERM WHALE and it’s possibly the first ever confirmed video according to a friend at NOAA

10 YEAR OLD ME IS LOSING HER MIND (a thread 🧵)

It doesn't yet, but I was making my own sigil font at 6:50 this morning...

Yeah I was thinking about panpsychism too much last night okay but the game will be weird and interesting.

Actually you just know that extra-terrestrial beings would have a fourth dimensional form of reddit where they roast each other's choice of crop circle font.

I would almost suggest it is irrational to *not* dream.

I am rational enough to understand that crop circles are not celestial keys to unlocking forgotten arcane knowledge, but romantic enough to imagine a world in which they are.

I do not think I could elucidate on how this change happened. I think the more time you spend doing something, the more opinions and fine details you will bring to that thing. For me it happened organically as much as it did through applied study and experimentation.

When I was small I did not daydream about jetpacks, flying cars or space travel. I daydreamed about crop circles, arcane alphabets, secret places, Gods hidden in nature. I think that's why I'm making an adventure game.

When I get successful beyond belief I'm gonna hire you to come do graphic design on a game UI for me.

This looks amazing, great stuff.

Honestly, the best way to make an artist’s day is by being very specific about what you like about a piece. Geek out a lil. Gush over how they use line, color, texture. Every mark is layed down by the artist, so if you can connect with those little moments, it helps the artist feel seen.

Interesting, I don't know either of these! I'll add them to my list, thank you!

Yes, they're very good at camouflage.

Happy to share the sunshine!

Another perfect spring day! I ended up walking 35km this weekend. I have missed the sun, and I can feel myself recharged by it. Now I spring to life like a thorny weed in the garden - unexpected and strange, and full of vigour.
A sandwich, thermos of coffee, and segmented grapefruit sitting next to a canvas backpack on a lichen-covered granite rock in the middle of a scrubby clearing. An ornate dragon, very well camouflaged among the granite rock. A pink lace variety of honey-myrtle, with brush shaped pale pink blossoms among thin, green leaves. (commonly called 'melaleuca' around here) A cluster of tadpoles in a shallow rockpool, churning the water into mud as they feed.

I’ve only just started it, but am enjoying it! I liked The Starless Sea.

The sun gives me energy, like a weed in the garden. And I always cut my citrus like this, haha. It’s the perfect shape for getting the flesh out neatly and leaving a clean pith and rind behind.
